It is the nature of things to dis-integrate and get out of alignment. We recognize this with our vehicles (tune ups) and our bodies (chiropractors), but can forget that a similar principle can be at work in our soul. This retreat is an opportunity to unplug from ministry and engage a “soul tune up”. We see it in the life of Jesus as he regularly got away from the demands of ministry and tended to the source of his vision, power and identity.

This retreat will provide the space to unplug from the distractions of normal life (healthy, good, things…mostly) and tend to the central space of the soul. Most people have ministry commitments and callings that can begin to sneak into the space only designed to be filled with a confidence that we are fully loved sons and daughters of the King. This is our central self; our identity.  Ministry, in it’s most healthy expression, is an overflow from a healthy and fully loved self with nothing to earn and nothing to prove.

What can I expect?

This will be a small retreat (no more than 10 of us) intentionally structured for individual space with Jesus.

The goal of these days will be to identify, realign, and reconnect parts of our “being” that have become connected to our “doing” in unhelpful and draining ways. Identity is all about being a son or daughter. This retreat is structured to realign our identity so that all of our “doing” for Jesus is a function of the overflow of love.

Each day will be structured around a rhythm of prayer. Retreatants will be encouraged to participate in the offices. Individual direction will be offered as desired and guided devotional meditations from scripture will be available to guide large blocks of time alone with Christ.

Dinner and evening will be given to connection between retreatants to discuss things that the Lord is stirring during the days.

This is intentionally low structure and high space. Think of it as an opportunity to take off all of the hats that represent your roles and responsibilities. They will be there to pick up when you return to the normal bustle of your life. For these few days you can enjoy the beauty (and maybe a little disruption) of simply being a daughter or a son of your Father.

Location:  Alhaurin de la Torre, Málaga, Spain is a peaceful area just inland from the Costa del Sol, ten minutes from the Mediterranean and fifteen minutes from Málaga airport. The retreats will be hosted at La Morada, SentWell’s development and care facility.

Travel to/from Soul Tending Retreat

These retreats take place at the La Morada, the SentWell development and care facility, in Alhaurin de la Torre, about 15 minutes from Málaga airport. Out of towners will need to fly into Costa del Sol Airport in Malaga. Accommodation for extra days in Malaga before or after the event will need to be personally arranged.

SentWell staff provides transfers on arrival and departure days. These transfers are available to/from the airport, Malaga’s Maria Zambrano train station, local hotels, or Airbnbs for the retreat.

Local participants can choose to be day participants or join us in residence.

Please plan to arrive by 3pm at the airport or the train station on arrival day (10th June, or 14th October depending on 2024 offering).  If you are travelling by car, please plan to arrive at the event by 4pm.

You will be free to leave after 2pm on departure day (14th June, or 18th October depending on 2024 offering).  Transfers will be available up until 4pm on this day.

STEP 1:

Application:  Fill out the online application and wait for confirmation of approval by email from the SentWellteam. Applications will be approved on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited!

STEP 2:

Once you have received application approval from the SentWell team, you have two payment options:  

1) You can either pay in US dollars by clicking on the PAY button below or you may pay in euros.  

2) If you would like to pay in euros, please get in touch with us on maya.gancheva@novo.org.

STEP 3:

Book flights or transportation:  Once your application has been approved, you have registered and received receipt of payment for the event, you may proceed with booking your flights for the event.

Please plan to arrive, if possible, by 3pm (Spain time) at the latest at Malaga airport or train station on arrival day (10th June, or 14th October depending on 2024 offering). If you are traveling by car directly to the retreat center, please plan to arrive by 4pm.

You may plan your departing flight or train after 2pm on departure day (14th June, or 18th October depending on 2024 offering).
